Job summary

Kenton Black Limited seeks a Commercial Lead for a major hyperscale data centre project in Norway. You will lead the commercial function across multiple phases, overseeing contract administration, procurement, and negotiations with clients and subcontractors.

Strong leadership and financial management skills are essential. Experience in MEP or big construction projects, with a track record of managing budgets, forecasts, and risk mitigation, is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Senior Commercial or Commercial Lead in MEP or large-scale construction.
• Strong understanding of contract management, cost control, procurement and subcontractor management.
• Experience on large, complex projects with significant budgets and multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the commercial function across the project, ensuring effective commercial control throughout all phases.
• Oversee contract administration, commercial reporting, cost control, forecasting and cash flow management.
• Manage procurement strategies, subcontractor appointments, valuations, variations and final accounts.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities, ensuring mitigation measures.
• Review contractual obligations and ensure compliance with client and subcontractor agreements.
• Collaborate with project management, engineering, procurement and planning teams to support delivery.
• Lead commercial negotiations with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Monitor project performance against budgets, forecasts and commercial targets.
• Provide clear commercial reporting and advice to senior management on risks and cost implications.
• Support long-term project potential and governance across multiple phases.
