Job summary

Vizrt, Inc. in Bergen, Norway, is seeking a senior engineer to develop high‑performance video processing components and contribute to core Vizrt technologies. You will tackle performance, reliability, and scalability challenges in demanding production environments while shaping architecture and long‑term tech direction.

You will work in a global backend team with opportunities for technical leadership, mentoring, and cross‑country collaboration on critical graphics and media workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent skills and experience.
• Software engineering experience with modern C++.
• Experience with Python and/or C#, or interest in working with the languages.
• Strong understanding of object‑oriented design, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience troubleshooting, profiling, and improving complex software systems.
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles and best practices.
• Experience with automated testing.
• Experience collaborating across teams, mentoring colleagues, or contributing to technical decision‑making.
• Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Good communication and team‑working skills.
• Experience with video processing, video codecs, transcoding, or multimedia frameworks is an advantage, but not a requirement.

Responsibilities

• Develop high‑performance video processing components used across Vizrt products.
• Solve challenging technical problems involving performance, reliability, and efficient processing of video.
• Contribute to architecture and long‑term direction of the technology.
• Work within a broader backend engineering environment on multiple core Vizrt technologies.
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs; design and implement new functionality.
• Improve performance, reliability, and maintainability of software.
• Collaborate with colleagues across multiple countries and teams.
• Potentially contribute to technical leadership and architectural decisions.
