M-KOPA, a remote-first fintech innovator, is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to build distributed C# and .NET microservices on Azure, embracing an event-driven architecture at scale. You will own end-to-end delivery, from idea to production, and work with diverse teams across the UK, Europe and Africa.

We value curiosity, autonomy, and a strong focus on production data as the true measure of success. This role offers a fully remote setup, with training and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Strong grasp of C# and .NET development.
• Experience with event-driven systems using Azure Service Bus or similar messaging tech.
• Microservices architecture experience, ideally on Azure and Kubernetes.
• Observability tooling (Grafana, Application Insights) to understand production behaviour.
• Comfort using AI tools as part of daily engineering workflow.
• DevOps culture mindset, including on-call/production ownership.
• Proven ability to collaborate across distributed time zones and teams.
• Continuous learning mindset and openness to feedback.
