Job summary

WELL ID is seeking a Scientific Programmer to join our small, dynamic software team in the Greater Stavanger area. You will contribute to research and development for well logging applications, developing and maintaining software and algorithms for transforming raw radar-based data into intuitive 3D visualizations.

The role emphasizes understanding sensor behavior, pulse propagation, and development of processing algorithms, with opportunities to work in our lab for testing and verification of

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or similar fields with good academic results.
• Previous experience in, and theoretical knowledge of, digital signal processing.
• Competency in object-oriented programming, with particular focus on Python.
• Good mathematical abilities, preferably with a background in Physics.
• Understanding of the importance of type hinting, logging, exception handling and documentation during development.

Responsibilities

• Mathematical modelling of signal pulses.
• Development of new data processing algorithms.
• Improvement of the user interfaces to existing software.
• Increasing the quality of the codebase.
• Improving the performance of the existing processing algorithms.
