Job summary

WELL ID AS in the Greater Stavanger area is seeking a Scientific Programmer to develop and maintain software and algorithms that transform raw radar data into 3D visualizations for well logging applications.

You will work in a small, dynamic software team, engaging with all parts of the stack, mentoring programs, and opportunities for growth while expanding your expertise in digital signal processing, Python, and data visualization.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or similar.
• Experience in digital signal processing and Python programming.
• Knowledge of type hinting, logging, exception handling, and documentation.
• Fulfill VISA requirements for travel to the USA.
• Beneficial: PyQt5, PyQtGraph, HDF5, Git, and multiprocessing in Python.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software and algorithms to transform raw radar data into 3D visualizations for well logging applications.
• Development of new data processing algorithms.
• Improve the user interfaces of existing software.
• Increase the quality of the codebase.
• Improve the performance of processing algorithms.
• Assist with testing and verification in the lab; electronics lab experience is a plus.
