Job summary

Preferred Family Health Care is seeking a School Based Therapist to deliver evidence-based mental health services within local school settings. You’ll assess, diagnose, and treat students while collaborating with families, school staff, and community partners to support emotional, behavioral, and academic well-being.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology or related field.
• Active or provisional Illinois licensure appropriate to scope of practice (LSW, LPC, LCPC or LCSW).

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized therapy to students during the school day.
• Manage a clinical caseload.
• Support academic success by delivering prevention and early-intervention services.
• Develop treatment plans and coordinate with school staff, families and supervisors.
• Respond to crisis situations and provide timely emotional support.
• Coordinate referrals to internal and external resources.
• Conduct clinical assessments and deliver evidence-based interventions.
• Serve as liaison between students, families and school partners.
