Job summary

AutoStore AS is seeking a Lead Engineer to join the Robotics – New Product Development team. You will lead a small group of engineers across electronics, firmware, and mechanics, taking technical ownership of key sub-systems from concept to production.

The role is primarily technical with people responsibilities for a growing engineering team. You will plan and coordinate work, track milestones, and support the development of your engineers through mentoring and onboarding.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of engineering experience in product development.
• Experience leading engineers or technical teams.
• Strong technical understanding across electronics, firmware, and mechanical systems.
• Experience developing physical products for serial or high-volume production.
• Experience with project execution and engineering planning.

Responsibilities

• Take technical ownership of assigned sub-systems, covering scope, quality, compliance, cost and delivery from development through to production.
• Lead and coordinate a multidisciplinary engineering team across electronics, firmware, and mechanics; plan resources and prioritise work.
• Work closely with Product, System Architecture, Project Management, Supply Chain, Test, Compliance and Manufacturing to deliver milestones.
• Support suppliers and production readiness while driving engineering best practices and reuse across development.
• Manage and develop a small, growing team of engineers, including 1:1s, feedback, and onboarding.
• Mentor engineers and foster collaboration across stakeholders.
