Job description

Our Credit & Analytics department is known for being one of the most forward-thinking in the Nordics, made up of talents from across the globe. Within it, the Credit Underwriting & Decision Analytics unit focuses on continuously improving our automated underwriting processes and monitoring risk performance, always with an eye on what's next.

We put professional development at the core of our success. At Bank Norwegian, you’ll find an international and friendly workplace with a flat structure, informal culture and high level of trust and autonomy.

About the role:

As our unsecured portfolios across the Nordics grow in both size and complexity, we’re now looking for a Risk Manager for our Danish portfolio, to join us on this exciting journey and help influence our future solutions. Credit underwriting is within the absolute core for a bank operating within unsecured credits. Working and coordinating with stakeholders from multiple departments is essential, and internally we simply refer to this role as having the day-to-day responsibility for “running the bank”.

Main tasks:
  • Collaborate with business, product, and cross-functional teams on projects and initiatives, providing credit risk expertise into business decisions.
  • Work with data and data structures to ensure we have the right foundation for monitoring initiatives and processes, and to connect these insights directly to business and credit risk outcomes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of credit risk strategies, tools, process improvements and efficiency within credit risk operations.
  • Develop and enhance data-driven monitoring and reporting to support proactive risk management.
  • Understand how data flows through our systems and processes, and leverage this knowledge to identify business opportunities, improve decision-making, and optimize operations.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Collaborate on various tasks within Credit Underwriting & Decision Analytics to support our continuous improvement journey.
We are looking for you who:
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working within credit risk and credit environment in Denmark
  • Knowledge of credit bureau data, regulatory requirements and market-specific credit risk factors for the Danish Market
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret complex data and present findings clearly
  • Fluency in Danish and/or Norwegian
  • Strong communication skills – ability to explain complex findings in an understandable way
  • Working experience from using analytical tools such R, Python, SAS or SQL/Databricks
  • A degree in a quantitative field (Economics, Finance, Statistics, Data Science or similar)
Nice to have:
  • Familiarity with reporting tools such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, GCP)
To thrive and perform well in the role, we believe that you need to be:

Creative, curious, and have strong analytical skills. You enjoy using data to challenge and improve existing methods and are eager to drive business improvements. You have a talent for seeing how data flows through and impacts business processes, and you use this understanding to identify opportunities, solve problems, and create value. You thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with colleagues from different backgrounds, and are comfortable taking initiative and responsibility in projects. You have a commercial mindset and are motivated by making a tangible impact on both risk management and business outcomes.

In addition to this, it is important to us that you recognize yourself in our values
