Job summary

SearchApi seeks a builder-designer hybrid who makes a developer-facing product feel premium. You design in Figma and ship it yourself in Hotwire, owning every pixel and ensuring smooth performance.

You’ll own the dashboard, interactive API playgrounds, and the docs/marketing experience, delivering fast, native HTML-first experiences with a taste-driven approach. Fully remote with equity and profit sharing.

Qualifications

• Produced frontend you designed and built yourself.
• Strong with a server-rendered, component-based stack (Rails + Hotwire).
• Fluent in Tailwind and a design tool like Figma.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Design and ship, not hand off. Take a feature from Figma to a merged PR: ViewComponents, Stimulus controllers, Tailwind, the whole thing.
• Own the dashboard. The logged-in experience: usage analytics, request history, billing, API keys.
• Build interactive API playgrounds. Real requests and live JSON outputs for developers.
• Own the docs and marketing experience. Keep the component system coherent and fast as the product grows.
• Build honest data viz. Turn raw metrics into trustworthy charts for developers.
• Hold the line on craft. Native HTML first, Turbo Frames over client-side state; push Hotwire to its limits.
• Clean up as you go. Tame the JavaScript bundle and eliminate dead CSS.
