Job summary

ABB ELECTRIFICATION NORWAY AS is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to design and develop 3D mechanical components for switchgear projects using CAD. The role involves documenting design processes, collaborating with the prototype team and updating models to meet thermal, electrical, and mechanical requirements.

You will contribute to MV switchgear development and participate in design reviews. Preferred background includes SolidWorks proficiency, a BSc or higher in Mechanical

Qualifications

• Experience with 3D design systems (SolidWorks).
• BSc or higher in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
• Experience with engineering design and simulation tools.
• Working proficiency in English and Norwegian.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components for switchgear projects using CAD.
• Document design processes, specifications and test results.
• Collaborate with prototype team to prepare designs for assembly and testing.
• Update 3D models considering thermal, electrical and mechanical requirements.
• Contribute to development and improvement of Medium Voltage Switchgear products.
• Participate in design reviews and provide feedback.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align with project goals.
