Job summary

Head Energy Consulting AS is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our engineering services team in Norway. You will work closely with manufacturing, quality inspectors, warehouse staff, supplier quality and engineering to improve product quality, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction through process improvements.

Responsibilities include developing and maintaining inspection procedures, leading calibration and metrology programs, performing audits, and guiding the team on quality standards.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent required.
• Strong knowledge of quality management standards and metrology.
• Ability to read drawings and specifications.
• Experience with CMM, laser trackers and other metrology tools.
• Fluent in Norwegian and English.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality Inspectors, Warehouse, Supplier Quality and Engineering.
• Improve product quality and OTD, customer satisfaction, and NC handling.
• Develop and maintain inspection procedures and metrology methods.
• Lead process improvement initiatives and calibration programs.
• Perform inspections, audits and First Article Inspections.
• Provide training and mentoring on quality standards.
• Coordinate NC handling and corrective actions.

Job Description

• You will work closely with Manufacturing, Quality Inspectors, Warehouse staff, Supplier Quality and Engineering.
• The Quality Engineer will ensure higher level of product quality and seek to improve OTD, customer satisfaction and NC handling through processes improvement.
• Roles and responsibilities Quality Control
• Initiates, develops and maintains measurement and inspection procedures, guidelines, standards, and methods for product monitoring.
• Drive, implement and execute process improvement initiatives and actions from improvement projects.
• Leads the development, implementation, and optimization of metrology and calibration processes.
• Develop and implement metrology strategies to optimize measuring efficiency and accuracy.
• Performs MSA (Measuring System Analysis).
• Inspections and Audits
• Perform inspections and audits of components and finished products.
• Conducts audits of production processes and documentation to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
• Document results and findings after inspections and audits are carried out.
• First Article Inspection.
• Engineering review
• The Quality Engineer will participate in review and release of new and revised production related Engineering documentation and drawings.
• Training and Guidance
• Provides training, guidance and mentoring to the inspection and production team on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
• Non-conformance management
• Coordinates activities related to NC handling, material rejections and corrective action reports.
• Participate in investigation of warranty cases.
• Facilitate root causes of quality issues and ensure implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

Qualifications

• Relevant engineering degree or equivalent background.
• Solid knowledge of standards related to quality management systems and metrology.
• Working knowledge with ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
• Working knowledge on the measurement process and tools (CMM, Laser Tracker, Vision equipment, calipers, gauges, micrometer, indicators, etc.).
• Ability to perform measuring system analysis.
• Experience in product and process audits.
• Excellent communication, collaboration skills, and problems solving skills.
• Excellent documentation practice, highly detail oriented.
• Experience working with Microsoft Office and SAP ERP and various metrology and statistics software.
• Fluent in both Norwegian and English.
