Job summary

Head Energy Consulting AS is seeking a skilled Senior Instrument Engineer to join our offshore engineering team in Norway. You will produce and review instrument diagrams, SCDs, and loop drawings for process, Fire&Gas and safety systems, and perform IS loop calculations.

You will coordinate with clients and vendors to deliver technically sound solutions. The role requires a Bachelor or Master degree (or extensive experience in lieu of a degree), 10+ years in Oil & Gas, and fluency in Norwegian

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree is required.
• If no degree, 10–15 years of relevant work experience.
• Oil & Gas engineering experience is required (10+ years).
• Knowledge of NORSOK, PTIL and API standards is required.
• Strong self-learning ability is essential.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Fluent Norwegian and English writing & speaking.

Responsibilities

• Produce or understand new docs and drawings (e.g., Cauce&Effect, SCD, loop drawings for process, Fire&Gas and safety systems; IS Loop Calculations).
• Revise existing documentation and drawings.
• Discipline check and approval of documents and drawings in the project.
• Order all instrument materials for offshore installation; interpret P&IDs and drawings from various disciplines.
• Discuss with client and vendor representatives to find optimal technical solutions.

Job Description

• Produce/understand new documentation and drawings such as Cauce&Effect, System Control Diagrams (SCD) diagrams, loop drawings for process, Fire&Gas and safety systems; IS Loop Calculations.
• Revise existing documentation and drawings.
• Discipline check and approval of produced documents and drawings in the project.
• Order all instrument materials needed for offshore installation.Must be able to understand P&IDs and drawings from different disciplines.
• Discussions with Client and vendor representatives in order to find optimal technical solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree
• Lack of education requires 10-15 years of relevant work experience
• More than 10 years experience in engineering within the Oil&Gas industry.
• Must have knowledge of relevant regulations and standards, such as NORSOK, PTIL and API standards
• High degree of self learning skills
• Good communication
• Excellent Norwegian and English writing & speaking skills
• Knowledge of modifications on offshore installations when in operation
• Basic EX course
• FSE high and low voltage, including first aid
