Job summary

Techconsult is partnering with our client to identify a skilled Quality Engineer for our site in Kongsberg, Norway. You will work with Manufacturing, Quality Inspectors, and Engineering to improve product quality and reduce non-conformances.

You will develop inspection procedures, lead metrology initiatives, perform audits and First Article Inspections, and coach teams on quality standards. Fluent Norwegian and English are required. Start ASAP.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent background.
• Solid knowledge of quality mgmt standards and metrology.
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
• Experience with measurement tools (CMM, Laser Tracker, vision, calipers, gauges, micrometers, indicators).
• Capability to perform MSA.
• Experience with product and process audits.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Fluent in Norwegian and English.

Responsibilities

• Initiates, maintains measurement procedures and methods for product monitoring.
• Drive and execute process improvement initiatives.
• Leads metrology and calibration programs development and optimization.
• Develop and implement metrology strategies for efficiency and accuracy.
• Perform MSA and First Article Inspection.
• Conduct inspections and audits of components and finished products.
• Provide training and mentoring on quality standards.
• Coordinate NC handling and corrective actions; participate in warranty investigations.

Job description

Techconsult is the link between jobs and professionals. For one of our customers we are now looking for a Quality Engineer

You will work closely with Manufacturing, Quality Inspectors, Warehouse staff, Supplier Quality and Engineering.

The Quality Engineer will ensure higher level of product quality and seek to improve OTD, customer satisfaction and NC handling through processes improvement

Job responsibilities:

Quality Control

• Initiates, develops and maintains measurement and inspection procedures, guidelines, standards, and methods for product monitoring.
• Drive, implement and execute process improvement initiatives and actions from improvement projects.
• Leads the development, implementation, and optimization of metrology and calibration processes
• Develop and implement metrology strategies to optimize measuring efficiency and accuracy.
• Performs MSA (Measuring System Analysis)

Inspections and Audits

• Perform inspections and audits of components and finished products
• Conducts audits of production processes and documentation to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
• Document results and findings after inspections and audits are carried out.
• First Article Inspection.
• The Quality Engineer will participate in review and release of new and revised production related Engineering documentation and drawings.

Training and Guidance

• Provides training, guidance and mentoring to the inspection and production team on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.

Non-conformance management

• Coordinates activities related to NC handling, material rejections and corrective action reports.
• Participate in investigation of warranty cases.
• Facilitate root causes of quality issues and ensure implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

Your experience and qualifications:

• Relevant engineering degree or equivalent background.
• Solid knowledge of standards related to quality management systems and metrology.
• Working knowledge with ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
• Working knowledge on the measurement process and tools (CMM, Laser Tracker, Vision equipment, calipers, gauges, micrometer, indicators, etc.).
• Ability to perform measuring system analysis.
• Experience in product and process audits.
• Excellent communication, collaboration skills, and problems solving skills.
• Excellent documentation practice, highly detail oriented.
• Experience working with Microsoft Office and SAP ERP and various metrology and statistics software.
• Fluent in both Norwegian and English
