Job summary

The City of Loganville is seeking a full-time Public Works Maintenance Technician in the Public Works Department. This role performs technical duties in maintaining city grounds, parks, landscaping, cemeteries, and other public works tasks to keep city property safe, clean, and well-maintained.

Responsibilities include operating equipment, assisting with special city events, and ensuring playgrounds and facilities are in good repair.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of landscape and grounds maintenance principles.
• Knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance.
• Skill in operating a variety of hand and power tools.
• Skill in problem solving, prioritizing, and planning.
• Skill in oral and written communication.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, work colleagues, and the general public.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions in the English language.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and maintains city parks; inspects playground equipment and reports repair needs.
• Installs and maintains landscaping on city property, including pine straw, mulch, gravel, flowers and shrubs.
• Maintains and repairs tools and equipment.
• Provides support for special city events.
• Operates a chipper and claw truck to collect residential yard waste.
• Installs holiday decorations.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
