Job Title: Public Works Maintenance TechnicianClosing Date/Time: Open Until FilledSalary: $38,072.58 (18.30 Hourly)Job Type: Full TimeDepartment: Public Works The City of Loganville is seeking a full time Public Works Maintenance Technician in the Public Works Department. This position performs technical duties in the maintenance of city grounds, parks, landscaping, cemeteries, and other public works activities. Work includes operating equipment, supporting special events, and ensuring city property is safe, clean and well-maintained.
Major Duties- Cleans and maintains city parks; inspects playground equipment and reports repair needs.
- Installs and maintains landscaping on city property, including pine straw, mulch, gravel, flowers and shrubs.
- Maintains and repairs tools and equipment.
- Provides support for special city events.
- Operates a chipper and claw truck to collect residential yard waste.
- Installs holiday decorations.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Knowledge Required By The Position- Knowledge of landscape and grounds maintenance principles.
- Knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance.
- Skill in operating a variety of hand and power tools.
- Skill in problem solving, prioritizing, and planning.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, work colleagues, and the general public.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions in the English language.
Requirements: High school diploma or GED equivalent, possesses a valid State of Georgia driver's license, and a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and background check; and passing a Drug Screen test.
