Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Norway is seeking an experienced Project Manager for major construction projects. You will oversee cost, schedule, and budgets, coordinate with General Contractors and consultants, and monitor milestone progress on complex data centre builds.

Fluency in English is essential; Norwegian is a plus. Expect frequent on-site work and regular travel within Norway as part of a dynamic, client-focused team.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Management / Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Min.10years of experience as a Project Manager for major construction projects; Data Centre Construction experience preferred.
  • Advanced skills with spreadsheets, report writing and presentations.
  • Strong and professional communication skills, with great organization, ability to multi-task.
  • Must have a “team attitude”, be self-motivated and willing to support other groups and projects.
  • Willingness to work 5 days on construction site and travel regularly within Norway.
  • Fluent English; Norwegian language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage overall project cost, schedule and budgets.
  • Manage General Contractor and other directly contracted vendors and consultants.
  • Analyse, track and effectively manage critical milestone activities to avoid schedule slip.
  • Review construction proposals and related pricing/scopes.
  • Review, correct and assess work-in-place, to approve capital expenditure spends.
  • Review and approve cost loaded schedules.
  • Run and lead client and other required meetings.
  • Identify factors that influence construction costs and monitor/report on this data.
  • Review and audit cost estimates prepared by contractors and others within a client’s organization.
  • Support engineering decisions relating to project cost and budget during design-build changes.
  • Review requests for payment; track equipment to meet schedule; record occurrences for potential claims; advocate for the client during disputes.
  • Coordinate scheduling consultant reviews on the project; review and approve final invoices.

  • Track and ensure equipment meets the project schedule.
  • Record occurrence that might result in a claim - acting on the client’s behalf.
  • Advocate on the part of the client during disputes, disagreements, modifications, or change orders.
  • Coordinate and oversee scheduling consultant reviews on the project.
  • Review and approve final invoices, payment applications, retention payments.
Qualifications
  • University degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Management / Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Min.10years of experience as a Project Manager for major construction projects;experiencein Data Centre Construction projects is preferred.
  • Advanced skills with spreadsheets, report writing and presentations.
  • Strong and professional communication skills, with great organization skills, ability to multi-task.
  • Must have a “team attitude”, be self-motivated and be willing to support other groups and projects when required.
  • Willingness to work 5 days on construction site and to travel on a regular basis within Norway.
  • Entrepreneurial thinking, creativity and dynamism.
  • Fluent English language skills, Norwegian language skills are a plus.
