Job summary

Wärtsilä Corporation in Stord, Norway, is hiring a Project Engineer to develop and deliver control systems for integrated electrical setups, including battery hybrid and full electric solutions for newbuilds and retrofits.

You will work with various hardware/software platforms, with mentoring from a dedicated team until you gain independence. This is a permanent role in the Ship Electrification Solutions team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical power or related field preferred; or equivalent ship/automation experience.
• Interest in PCs, data networks and programming.
• Ability to work systematically with high quality in mind.
• Good language skills in English; Norwegian a bonus.

Within Ship Electrification Solutions (SES) we are a world leading total supplier of electric and hybrid solutions for the marine industry. Our products range from Shaft Generators, Electric Propulsion Systems to Hybrid Solutions.

We are planning to strengthen ourenergetic, ambitious, and enthusiastic control systemsteam with more employees.

As a Project Engineer you will develop and deliver control systems to a variety of highly innovative integrated electrical system, including battery hybrid, dual fuel engines, and full electric solutions to both the newbuild ships and retrofit upgrades. As part of the training on different hardware and software platforms, we practice mentoring for new employees. You will have a dedicated mentor from our team until you gain a curtain level of knowledge to be able to work more independent.

This is permanent position for the SES team located in Stord, Norway.

Your main focus in this position will be:

• Control and safety systems engineering.
• Programming of SCADA/PLC systems
• Data networks and cyber security
• Configuration and testing of computers, PLC’s and data network in our lab
• Documentation of our deliveries.
• Teamwork in an international environment
• Responsibility for own customer projects

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Preferably you hold a bachelor's degree within electrical poweror you're anautomatic operator/ship's electricianwith relevant experience
• Interest in PC’s, data network and programming
• Ability to work systematically with high quality in mind
• Good language skills in both spoken and written English
• Language skills in Norwegian is abenefit, but not required
• Willingness to travel occasionally
