Job description

Project Director | Data Centre Construction | Norway

Up to £170,000 + accommodation + travel and project expenses

Every package has a lead. The whole project needs someone who can bring them together.

Paravon is recruiting a Project Director to lead the delivery of a data centre build in Norway.

Your remit will span the entire project: people, programme, commercial performance, safety, quality and the client relationship. You'll lead the specialists responsible for individual workstreams and ensure their decisions support one coordinated delivery plan.

We're looking for someone who can move comfortably between a client meeting, a commercial review and a difficult conversation on site—and make each one count.

Your remit

You’ll set the direction for the project team and take accountability for delivery from construction through commissioning and handover.

That means:

  • Building and leading a management team with clear responsibilities, priorities and decision-making authority.
  • Bringing CSA, MEP, procurement and commissioning workstreams together around achievable project milestones.
  • Owning the overall programme, challenging assumptions and directing recovery plans where progress falls behind.
  • Maintaining control of budgets, forecasts, changes and contractual obligations alongside the commercial team.
  • Leading the client relationship, communicating progress clearly and resolving issues before they become entrenched.
  • Holding contractors and delivery partners accountable for performance, quality and safe working.
  • Making timely decisions on competing priorities, resource requirements and project risks.
  • Ensuring construction completion translates into commissioning readiness and a controlled handover.
The judgement this role needs

You can distinguish between an issue a package lead should resolve and one that needs your intervention.

You understand when to challenge a programme, when to commit resources and when to give the client a difficult message. You create an environment where problems surface early and people take responsibility for solving them.

Your team should know the plan, understand their part in it and trust the decisions being made.

Your background
  • Proven experience leading major data centre construction projects as a Project Director or senior project delivery leader.
  • Responsibility for whole-project delivery, including multidisciplinary teams, commercial performance and client relationships.
  • A strong understanding of how CSA, MEP and commissioning activities connect across the project lifecycle.
  • Experience managing complex contractor structures and senior stakeholders.
  • Evidence of delivering against demanding programme, budget, safety and quality requirements.
  • A relevant construction or engineering qualification, or equivalent experience.
  • Willingness to lead the project on site in Norway.
The package
  • Salary up to £170,000, depending on experience.
  • Living accommodation provided.
  • Travel and agreed project expenses covered.
  • Working arrangements and the full package discussed during the initial conversation.

We're interested in the scale of the projects you've led, the teams you've built and the delivery decisions you've personally owned.
