Job summary

University of Oslo seeks 1–2 full-time Postdoctoral Fellows affiliated with CREATE and CEMO, for three years with potential extension. The work focuses on advanced methodological and psychometric research, including IRT, SEM, and meta-analytic methods, within international education data settings.

The positions include 10–25% teaching duties and aim to build a research profile to qualify for an associate professor role. UiO supports career development and diverse perspectives.

Qualifications

• Applicants must hold a degree equivalent to a Norwegian doctoral degree in one of the social and behavioral sciences, statistics, or computer science applying and/or developing advanced quantitative methods.
• Fluent oral and written communication skills in English
• Demonstrated fit to one of the three research areas (a)–(c)
• Proficiency in programming and data analysis in the statistical software environment R, Python, or other relevant programming languages

Responsibilities

• The successful candidate will conduct advanced methodological and psychometric research.
• Teaching activities may be required, usually part of the duties (10% or 25% of time).
• Appointments are for three years, with potential extension to four years depending on match with teaching needs.
