Job summary

NTNU Norwegian University of Science and Technology's Department of Materials Science and Engineering has a vacancy for a three-year Postdoctoral fellow position focused on the thermodynamics of refractory metals and the production of specialty alloys with new carbon-free methods.

The fellow will be part of projects with SINTEF, Norwegian industry and EU partners, and will build a profile for an associate professor role.

Qualifications

• You must have a PhD and experience in high temperature thermodynamic experiments and modelling using the commercial software FACTSage is required.
• Documented teaching experience.
• Excellent skills in written and oral English.

Responsibilities

• Carry out research of excellent quality.
• Academic publications and popular science dissemination.
• Participate in the process metallurgy and electrochemistry research group.
• Apply for research funding and write applications and report on progress to funding sources.
• Participate in international activities such as conferences and/or research stays at foreign educational institutions.
• Mentoring students, helping them with their research projects, and advising on methodology and academic writing.
• Teaching.
