Job summary

NTNU in Trondheim invites applications for a 3-year Postdoctoral Fellow in process metallurgy/high-temperature materials science. The project focuses on refractory metal thermodynamics and carbon-free alloy production, with partners including SINTEF and European industry.

You will join a research group of ~20 PhD candidates and postdocs, publish work, seek funding, mentor students, and collaborate across institutions; English proficiency and a PhD are required.

Qualifications

  • Must have a PhD and experience in high temperature thermodynamic experiments and modelling using FACTSage.
  • Experience building specialized databases for thermodynamic simulations.
  • Teaching experience.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out research of excellent quality.
  • Publish academic papers and disseminate science.
  • Participate in the process metallurgy and electrochemistry group.
  • Apply for research funding and report progress to funders.
  • Participate in international activities such as conferences and research stays.
  • Mentor students and advise on methodology and writing.
