Job summary

NTNU's Department of Material Science and Engineering invites applications for a 3-year Postdoctoral Fellow position focusing on the thermodynamics of refractory metals and production of specialty alloys using new carbon-free methods. You will collaborate with SINTEF and industry within EU projects and mentor PhD candidates within a vibrant research group in Trondheim.

The candidate will conduct high-temperature thermodynamic modelling and experiments, publish results, and contribute to teaching

Qualifications

• PhD and experience in high temperature thermodynamic experiments and modelling using FACTSage is required.
• Documented teaching experience.
• Excellent English (written and spoken) is compulsory.

Responsibilities

• Carry out research of excellent quality.
• Publish academic papers and disseminate popular science.
• Participate in process metallurgy and electrochemistry group activities.
• Apply for research funding and report progress to funders.
• Engage in international conferences and research stays.
• Mentor students and advise on methodology and academic writing.
• Teach as part of duties.
