Job summary

University of Oslo is offering a 3-year fixed-term postdoctoral position in immunology within the Kg Jebsen Center for Specific Autoimmune Therapy. The successful candidate will work mainly in the Sollid lab at OUH/Diakonhjemmet and will collaborate across departments to study B-cell depletion strategies in autoimmune disease.

The role involves lab work, sample handling, flow cytometry, cloning, data analysis, and presenting results at national and international conferences.

Qualifications

• A doctoral degree is required in medicine, molecular biology, basic immunology or a related area.
• Background in basic immunological research.
• Experience with flow cytometry, cell culture, ELISA, molecular biology including PCR, cloning of genes and generation of transfectants.
• Demonstrated experience in project management, scientific writing and scientific presentations.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Play an active part in research collaboration within the group and seek qualifications for higher academic positions.
• Organize the clinical part of the project and recruit/obtain biological samples from relevant patients.
• Isolate immune cells from patient samples.
• Identify and characterize antigen-specific cells by flow cytometry and cell-culture assays.
• Clone and express rearranged B-cell receptor genes from antigen-specific B cells and plasma cells.
• Write scientific papers and present results at international conferences.
