Job summary

NORCE's Ocean, Environment and Biotechnology division in Bergen, Norway, invites applications for a fixed-term Postdoctoral Researcher position in Arctic Fish Movement Ecology, Climate Change and Species Redistribution.

The successful candidate will lead analyses, publish in international journals, coordinate fieldwork in Svalbard, and supervise MSc/PhD students within the ROPES project.

Qualifications

  • PhD must be completed before employment.
  • Strong publication record for career stage.
  • Experience with quantitative ecological analyses and statistical modelling.
  • Strong programming skills in R or similar software.
  • Experience handling large ecological datasets.
  • Excellent written and oral English communication.

Responsibilities

  • Lead analyses of fish movements and habitat use in Arctic fjord ecosystems.
  • Publish results in international peer-reviewed journals.
  • Coordinate planning and implementation of field campaigns in Svalbard.
  • Supervise MSc and PhD students and contribute to funding proposals.
  • Collaborate with international partners in Arctic ecosystem research.
