Job summary

NORCE in Bergen, Norway invites applications for a Postdoctoral Researcher in Arctic Fish Movement Ecology, Climate Change, and Species Redistribution. The 3-year position is based in the Ocean, Environment and Biotechnology division, with fieldwork in Svalbard and collaboration with international partners.

The successful candidate will lead analyses, publish results, and contribute to future funding proposals while supervising MSc/PhD students in an internationally recognized research group.

Qualifications

  • PhD must be completed before employment.
  • Strong publication record relative to career stage.
  • Experience with quantitative ecological analyses and statistical modelling.
  • Excellent written and oral English communication.

Responsibilities

  • Lead scientific analyses of fish movements and habitat use in Arctic fjord ecosystems.
  • Analyze acoustic telemetry datasets for polar cod, Atlantic cod, haddock and others.
  • Develop habitat selection and movement ecology models.
  • Coordinate field campaigns in Svalbard and supervise students.
