Job summary

NTNU in Trondheim invites applications for a PhD Candidate in Integrated Energy Systems for Sustainable Digital Infrastructure. The research focuses on AI-enabled energy and carbon management systems, DAC, district heating, and integration with industrial processes.

The position includes doctoral education, research, publications, and international collaborations, under the supervision of the Department of Energy and Process Engineering.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field such as process systems engineering, chemical engineering, energy engineering or mechanical engineering.
• Experience in process simulation, integration or optimization.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, C++, etc.).
• Experience with optimization software such as Pyomo or GAMS.
• Proficiency in process simulation software (Aspen Plus, Aspen HYSYS, etc.).
• Experience in techno-economic analysis and/or life cycle assessment.
• Research publications in peer-reviewed journals or conferences.

Responsibilities

• Complete the doctoral education until obtaining a doctorate.
• Carry out research of high quality within the described framework.
• Publish academic papers and disseminate popular science.
• Participate in international activities such as conferences or research stays.
