Qualifications

  • Must meet admission requirements for the IE faculty's Doctoral Programme.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science and Mathematics with a major independent project (≥30 ECTS).
  • Master students may apply; degree must be obtained before starting and no later than 01-Jan-2027.
  • Strong academic background with an average grade equal to B or better on NTNU's scale.
  • Strong background in CS with excellent programming skills; research-oriented Master thesis in databases, information retrieval, data mining, or algorithms.
  • Excellent written and oral English skills.
  • Norwegian/Scandinavian language ability or willingness to acquire during the program.

Responsibilities

  • Publish in top-tier conferences and journals (e.g., SIGIR, SIGMOD, VLDB).
  • Participate in the Databases and Search research group activities.
  • Assist the primary supervisor with teaching assistant duties related to databases, data mining, and information retrieval.
