Job description

Petrolia NOCO is seeking Data-Manager in Bergen

PNO has been exploring the Norwegian shelf since 2012, and we will continue to do so in the years to come. Our acquisition of 12.3% of the Brage field signaled a new phase and a new beginning for our organisation. As we expand our already promising exploration portfolio, move mature discoveries to production, and add assets to our production portfolio, we are looking for talented individuals to join us on this exciting adventure, starting now.

We are looking for an experienced and collaborative Data Manager to strengthen our ability to manage, structure and make effective use of our technical and business data.

The role requires a combination of IT and data-management competence, business understanding and strong interpersonal skills. You will work closely with technical disciplines, management and IT to ensure that data is well structured, accessible, reliable and AI-ready.

Petrolia Noco is a company
  • where you can directly influence the company's direction, and the success of the company is directly linked to the success of the individual and the team,

  • where your individual efforts are seen and rewarded, and your career development is directly supported through courses, on-the-job training, field trips etc

  • where you can learn all aspects of exploration and production, where you one day are a technical expert and the next you evaluate commercial matters, do business development or pitch to the Board -- or,

  • where you can choose to dive deep into the technical side of the business, developing your domain expertise,

  • where you engage in the entire fluid journey from the outer boundary to point of sales, from prospect to production,

  • where your opinion matters and with minimal distance from idea to execution and from domain expert to Board and CEO,

  • where information is shared broadly and openly -- vertically and horizontally,

  • where we appreciate flexible work opportunities, and

  • where we are ambitious and hard-working while making sure to have fun in the process.

Key responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain structured technical and business data

  • Ensure data quality, consistency, integrity and accessibility

  • Drive the preparation and structuring of data to make it AI-ready and enable future AI and advanced analytics applications

  • Establish and improve data-management standards, processes and workflows

  • Support users in the efficient use of data systems and digital tools

  • Work closely with IT and technical teams on system integration, data migration and improvement initiatives

  • Support information governance, access management and data security

  • Identify opportunities for improved workflows, automation, AI and digitalisation

  • Act as a bridge between technical users, business needs and IT solutions

Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience within data management, information management, IT or a related field

  • Relevant higher education within IT, data, engineering, geoscience or similar

  • Good understanding of databases, data structures and modern IT systems

  • Understanding of data quality, metadata and data structures required to support AI and advanced analytics

  • Experience with data-management platforms, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Power BI, SQL or similar tools is an advantage

  • Experience from the energy/E&P industry would be beneficial

Personal qualities

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Structured, reliable and quality-conscious

  • Service-minded and comfortable working with people across different disciplines

  • A strong communicator with good social and interpersonal skills

  • Curious and proactive, with an interest in technology, AI and continuous improvement

  • Able to translate technical issues into practical solutions

  • Comfortable taking ownership while also working effectively as part of a team

We have ambitious plans, the main ones being that
  • we will be an independent licence partner or operator of producing fields on the NCS with a robust platform for further growth,

  • we will extend our exploration asset portfolio success to the entire NCS, continuing to create value from exploration,

  • we continue developing an effective hands-on operating organisation to extract the maximum value from every asset through domain knowledge, smart asset management, and active involvement,

  • we will create profitable growth through smart reinvestment of cash flow from producing fields into exploration, development, and acquisitions,

  • we will create value for all stakeholders, with stakeholders being defined as the employees, the shareholders and investors, and the society.

We offer:
  • A creative and fun work environment where technical expertise and exploration experience are shared and valued

  • Competitive salaries, good pension and insurance schemes

  • Relevant professional training

  • Flexible working hours and place of work

  • Dynamic work processes with a short route from idea to decision

  • Great development opportunities through hands-on involvement in all technical, business, commercial and strategic aspects of oil and gas exploration
