The Hoxton Oslo is opening and seeking a People and Culture Manager to lead recruitment, HR policy implementation, and day-to-day support for managers. You will help build a local team, ensure legal compliance, and champion The Hoxton culture across the pre-opening and ongoing operation.

You will partner with department heads on people development, manage employee relations, and contribute to global HR initiatives while maintaining a high-performance, inclusive workplace.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience across all aspects of human resources within the hospitality industry.
  • Strong recruitment and selection skills with a track record of hiring at pace in hotels.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the business to advise on workforce planning and people decisions.
  • Implement and manage policies and processes compliant with local employment law.
  • Build a strong employer brand and talent pool for succession planning.
  • Collaborate with department heads to create development paths for teams.
  • Embed The Hoxton values to preserve a positive culture and inclusive environment.
  • Lead the talent review process from coffee chats to annual reviews and career progression.
  • Coordinate Do More initiatives with local charities and community projects.
  • Support managers with employee relations and performance cases.
  • Contribute to European/Global HR projects and roll-outs.

Job description

The Hoxtonis gearing up for another milestone moment as it prepares to open its very first hotel in Scandinavia in Norwegian capital of Oslo. Known as one of the greenest cities in the world, Oslo balances access to pristine nature with parks, Fjords and Forests with a rich cultural heritage in art, modern architecture and maritime history.

We’ll be calling the New Government Quarterour home but first we need to pull together a team to help us bring the Hox to a brand new market. The Hoxton, Oslo will be home to 144 bedrooms of varying sizes, three unique restaurant and bar concepts including an all-day dining destination, a speciality restaurant and a cocktail bar. It will also feature The Apartment, The Hoxton’s signature meetings & events concept space

We are seeking an experienced People and Culture Managerfor The Hoxton,Oslo.


You will be responsible for recruiting the team in our pre-opening period, to implement our policies locally for our newest property and thereafter take responsibility for the day-to-day support to managers for a successful Hox operation and team.

  • Be a true partner to the business for anything that relates to looking after their teams, providing advice & guidance.
  • Implement and manage our policies, processes, and procedures, ensuring we are compliant with local employment law in all areas.
  • Position our brand as an employer of choice through effective recruitment strategies that attract talent and build a talent pool for effective succession planning within the business.
  • Work with heads of department on putting in place development opportunities & paths for the team, with input from our Director of L&D.
  • Keep the culture of the hotel alive by embedding The Hoxton values, promoting a fair,safeand inclusive environment and leading initiatives that engage and empower the team.
  • Drive our talent review process from coffee chats, annual reviews through to talent and career management.
  • Lead activities under “Do More”,our global initiative to work with local charities &community projects in the cities we call home.
  • Support managers on employee relations and performance management cases.
  • Work with the central team on European/Global projects and rollouts. We want to hear your ideas and get your input on how to design effective initiatives and deliver innovative solutions.
