Job summary

The Hoxton Oslo, part of Ennismore, seeks a Director of Finance to lead all financial management for the hotel’s launch and ongoing operations. You will own accounting records, financial reporting, and the relationship with operations and head office to ensure excellent service and robust controls.

You will plan and manage the hotel’s budgeting, forecasting, and financial strategy, while developing a high-performing finance team and implementing efficient systems to drive profitability in

Qualifications

• 5+ years hotel finance experience.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements from a financial and legal perspective.
• Technical skill with compliance, hotel operations, and finance function setup.

Responsibilities

• Lead balance sheets, P&L, cash management and capital planning.
• Oversee budgeting, planning and forecasting for The Hoxton, Oslo.
• Deliver high-quality management reporting and performance analysis.
• Develop and supervise a high-performing finance team.

The Hoxtonis gearing up for another milestone moment as it prepares to open its very first hotel in Scandinavia in theNorwegian capital of Oslo. Known as one of the greenest cities in the world, Oslo balances access to pristine nature with parks, Fjords and Forests with a rich cultural heritage in art, modern architecture and maritime history.

We’ll be calling theNew Government Quarterour home but first we need to all together a team to help us bring the Hox to a brand new market. The Hoxton, Oslo will be home to 144 bedrooms of varying sizes, three unique restaurant and bar concepts including an all-day dining destination, a speciality restaurant and a cocktail bar. It will also feature The Apartment, The Hoxton’s signature meetings & events concept space

Whatyou’lldo…

Ensure strongfinancialmanagementwithin a robust control environment.

Have ultimate responsibility foraccurateaccounting records and provide financial reports for thehotel. Thehotel isoperatedon a self-accounting basis and includes statutory accounts.

Manage thefinance relationship withoperations andfinance at hotel and head office ensuring that an excellent service is provided through quality input.

Manage the relevant elements of our owner relationship.

Lead all elements related to balance sheets, P&L, cash management, capital, amongst others.

Provide focused,innovativeand value-addingmanagementreporting andanalysis.

Deliver high quality management information and performance measurement that isaccurateand relevant.

Ensure reporting that incorporates benchmarking, identification and measurement of key performance indicators and use of balanced scorecard.

Optimise and developsystems to improve efficiency and information.

Ensure training takes place for users; challenge processes toeliminatenon-value adding tasks.

Work with colleagues to ensure that errors are corrected at source and processes amended asrequired, eliminating rather than correcting errors.

Lead theplanning andforecasting process forThe Hoxton,Oslo and ensure that financial plans are consistent with the strategicobjectives.

Pro-actively support the General Manager and lead the finance team in hotel strategic planning, focussing on value opportunities.

Manage the formulation,reviewand approval process for budgeting within the hotel.

Lead, develop and inspire a high-qualityfinanceteam.

Actively plan for succession to develop and replace individuals effectively.

Develop effectiveness of thefinance function through continuous training and development of the team. Lead and motivate the team tohigh levelsof performance.

5 plus years of hotel finance experience, ideally already in a Finance Manager/Director of Financerole.

Strong knowledge and experience of operating requirements from a financial and legal perspectiveonNorwegian financial requirements.

Technical skill, with a strong understanding of compliance requirements, best practice hotel operations, finance function set up and standard systems.

A balance between a methodical and process-driven approach and flexibility and creativity when it comes to meeting deadlines and finding solutions.

Aqualified accountant would be an advantage.
