Birchwood Construction Company seeks a dependable, hands-on part-time facilities assistant to help keep our Harbor Springs campus clean, organized, sage, and well maintained. The campus includes 8 buildings across approximately 2 acres.

This is a great position for someone who enjoys staying busy, working independently, fixing little things, and taking pride in keeping our property looking its best. This is not a skilled trades position.

Qualifications

• Dependable and reliable performer with a practical approach to tasks.
• Able to work independently and recognize what needs to be done.
• Comfortable performing basic repairs and routine maintenance.
• Takes pride in keeping spaces clean and organized.

Responsibilities

• General indoor and outdoor building maintenance.
• Minor repairs and basic handyman projects.
• Changing light bulbs, filters, batteries, and other routine items.
• Organizing and cleaning up of warehouse, storage areas, parking lot, garden.
• Checking buildings and property for maintenance or safety concerns.
• Putting away deliveries of construction materials, furniture, tools, and equipment.
• Operating forklift to unload/load deliveries.
• Picking up items from suppliers.
• Upkeep of vehicle fleet (fuel, washing, maintenance).
• Winter maintenance with shoveling and salt/ice melt application.
• Help coordinate access for outside contractors when needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

We are looking for a dependable, hands-on part-time facilities assistant to help keep our Harbor Springs campus clean, organized, sage, and well maintained. Our campus includes 8 buildings across approximately 2 acres. This is a great position for someone who enjoys staying busy, working independently, fixing little things, and taking pride in keeping our property looking its best.

This is not a skilled trades position. Electrical, HVAC, plumbing, lawn care, and snow removal are handled by our contracted professionals. We need someone to help take care of the day-to-day items.

What You'll Be Doing

• General indoor and outdoor building maintenance
• Minor repairs and basic handyman type projects
• Changing light bulbs, filters, batteries, and other routine items
• Organizing and cleaning up of warehouse, storage areas, parking lot, garden
• Checking buildings and property for maintenance or safety concerns
• Putting away deliveries of construction materials, furniture, tools, and equipment
• Operating forklift to unload/load deliveries
• Picking up items from suppliers
• Upkeep of vehicle fleet (maintaining fuel, washing, cleaning, maintenance)
• Winter maintenance will involve shoveling and applying salt/ice melt on walkways
• Help coordinate access for outside contractors when needed
• Other duties as assigned
