Job summary

IKM Consultants AS seeks an HSE Engineer to perform detailed design and modification tasks on safety systems in offshore projects, including PFP, AFP, and Fire and Gas Detection. You will manage area classification, ignition source control, and SIL, while coordinating with clients, vendors and third parties.

The role requires a degree in technical safety, 5–10 years offshore experience in Norway, knowledge of Ptil, ISO, and NORSOK, and fluent Norwegian and English.

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in technical safety or a related discipline; relevant experience can compensate.
• 5–10 years of offshore design and modification work in Norway.
• In-depth knowledge of Ptil requirements, ISO, and NORSOK standards.
• Proven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with stakeholders.
• Strong communication and self-learning skills.
• Fluency in both Norwegian and English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed design and modification tasks on safety systems in projects.
• Handle Passive Fire Protection (PFP), Active Fire Protection (AFP), and Fire and Gas Detection.
• Manage Area Classification, Ignition Source Control, Escape, Evacuation and Rescue (EER), and Safety Integrity Level (SIL).
• Oversee Working Environment and Environmental Care Engineering.
• Conduct interdisciplinary coordination, checks, and verifications.
• Identify and facilitate required risk and verification activities such as HAZID and WEHRA.
• Follow up with clients, vendors, and third parties.
• Provide input regarding cost and plan activities for project safety aspects.
