Job summary

Nicoustic is seeking an instrument engineer to own offshore pilot installations from site surveys to commissioning. Work with a senior mentor and grow into leadership as pilots scale to commercial deliveries. Based in Trondheim with offshore work 10–20 days per year and relocation assistance available.

You will handle pre-engineering, installation, integration with control systems, and documentation; collaborate with SAP, ProCoSys, and other tools, while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience with offshore field instrumentation.
• Experience taking a new field instrument through qualification, engineering, installation and commissioning offshore.
• Knowledge of offshore instrument cybersecurity requirements on NCS.
• Experience with SAS integration of field instruments and offshore-to-onshore communication.
• Experience with operator software such as SAP, SharePoint, ProCoSys, STID, PIMS.
• Fluent Norwegian and English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Site surveys and feasibility assessments on the host installations.
• Pre-engineering and detailed engineering: mounting, cabling and power supply, Ex documentation, integration with the control system (SAS) and cybersecurity documentation.
• Writing work packs and installation and commissioning procedures - and executing them.
• Offshore installation, mechanical completion, commissioning and handover.
• Owning plan, budget and deliveries for each pilot.
• Following up suppliers and subcontractors, including our hardware manufacturers.
