SME Careers in Norway seeks a highly skilled Norwegian Language Specialist to review AI-generated content and craft high-quality reference material. You will assess accuracy, tone, grammar, and cultural appropriateness, providing precise feedback and rewrites as needed.

The role is remote and hourly, with a strong emphasis on grammar explanations and detailed QA across Bokmål and/or Nynorsk. Suitable for linguists with 3+ years of language-focused experience and strong English proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Linguistics, Norwegian/English Literature, Communications, Journalism, Translation, or related field.
• Native Norwegian proficiency in reading and writing.
• Strong professional English proficiency (C1) to provide feedback in English.
• 3+ years in writing, editing, localization, translation, content QA, journalism, education, or related language work.
• Deep understanding of Norwegian grammar, spelling, punctuation, and style.
• Comfort with Bokmål and/or Nynorsk; specify which you can support.
• High attention to detail to spot subtle meaning shifts and cultural mismatches.
• Reliable, self-directed, and able to deliver quality remotely across time zones.
• Prior AI data training/annotation or editorial QA is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop AI Training Content: Create prompts and gold-standard Norwegian answers.
• Optimize AI performance by evaluating outputs for fluency, tone, and cultural accuracy.
• Ensure model integrity by detecting unsafe content and factual inaccuracies.
