Job summary

MaineHealth's NorDx laboratory seeks a Medical Laboratory Assistant II to act as a liaison in patient settings and perform key pre-analytical tasks, including phlebotomy, specimen processing, and order entry. This role supports waived testing and quality control while coordinating with the lab team.

The position requires a HS diploma, 1 year phlebotomy/specimen management experience, and may require travel to other sites; a valid CDL may be required for travel.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
• License/Certifications: PBT/MLA from ASCP/AMT/NHA preferred.
• Experience: One year of phlebotomy and specimen management required.
• May be asked to work at other sites/locations.

Responsibilities

• Represents the organization in patient settings as a liaison.
• Performs pre-analytical functions: phlebotomy, specimen processing, order entry, waived testing, quality control, specialty collection.
