Job summary

Horizon Financial Services in Svalbard is seeking a skilled Mason to join our team. You will be responsible for constructing and repairing structures using brick, stone and concrete, reading blueprints, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of masonry experience, proficiency with brick, stone and concrete materials, and the ability to follow building codes. English communication is required; Norwegian a plus. Accommodation is provided.

Qualifications

Job description

We are in urgent need of a skilled Mason to join our team in Svalbard As a Mason you will be responsible for constructing and repairing structures made of brick stone or concrete You must have experience working with various materials and tools as well as the ability to read blueprints and follow building codes and safety regulations

Key Responsibilities

• Constructing or repairing walls floors chimneys patios sidewalks and other structures
• Laying bricks or stones in a specific pattern according to blueprints
• Mixing mortar and applying it between bricks or stones
• Cutting bricks or stones to fit around obstacles
• Using various tools such as trowels hammers levels and saws
• Following building codes and safety regulations at all times
• Communicating effectively with team members and contractors

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Mason
• Proficient in working with brick stone and concrete materials
• Ability to read blueprints and follow building codes
• Familiarity with different types of tools used in masonry work
• Physically fit and able to lift heavy materials on a regular basis
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately
• Good communication skills in English knowledge of Norwegian is a plus
• Valid drivers license is preferred
