Job summary

Kongsberg Precision Cutting Systems is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to strengthen our R&D team and develop firmware for advanced digital cutting systems. You will collaborate with hardware and electronics engineers, design and implement bare-metal and RTOS-based embedded software, read schematics, and contribute to robust, scalable solutions while learning and growing in a hands-on environment.

Qualifications

  • Degree in engineering, computer science, or related field.
  • Solid experience with bare-metal embedded development on microcontrollers and knowledge of microcontroller architecture and hardware/software interaction.
  • Strong C/C++ skills for embedded systems.
  • Experience with real-time and event-driven systems, including RTOS concepts.
  • Ability to read schematics and datasheets.
  • English required, preferably Norwegian.
  • Experience with embedded Linux, CAN/EtherCAT/SPI or in automation/robotics/sensor systems is a plus; knowledge of Git, CI/CD, build tools, or Python is beneficial.
  • Pragmatic and analytical self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively.

About The Position

You will join our software team to develop and improve embedded solutions for high-precision cutting equipment, working closely with hardware and electronics engineers in a hands-on environment.

Qualifications & Experience
