Job summary

NIBIO - Norwegian Institute of Bioeconomy Research in Ås, Norway, seeks a skilled researcher to work with calculation and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions and removals from the land use sector (LULUCF).

The role strengthens the team responsible for greenhouse gas accounting, delivering national inventories and related statistics and tools, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, transparency, and reproducible data workflows.

Qualifications

• Strong programming skills in R.
• Strong written and spoken English and Norwegian (or Swedish/Danish).
• At least two of the Additional Qualifications listed.

Responsibilities

• Perform data processing, calculations, analyses, and reporting for the national greenhouse gas inventory and municipality accounts.
• Develop a spatially explicit greenhouse gas calculator and natural capital accounting.
• Contribute to projects and reporting related to LULUCF inventories and emissions trends.
• Maintain reproducible data workflows with documentation, quality assurance, transparency and traceability.
