Job summary

B.B. Energy is seeking an experienced LPG Market Analyst to join its global trading team in London or Singapore. You will deliver market intelligence, build analytical models, and provide actionable insights to traders and senior management.

You will monitor global LPG market fundamentals, collect and validate data, and develop forecasting tools to support trading decisions. Strong English, Python, SQL, and a hands-on understanding of LPG markets are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Engineering, Mathematics, or another quantitative discipline.
  • At least three years of experience in commodity market analysis or a similar analytical position, ideally in energy or refined products.
  • Experience analysing LPG markets is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to translate data into commercial insights.
  • Experience with trade data, visualization platforms, and statistical/analytical software.
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, or similar data analysis tools; strong MS Office skills.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong programming and database skills, particularly in Python and SQL; knowledge of R/MATLAB/VBA is a plus.
  • Hands-on knowledge of global LPG markets; familiarity with naphtha markets is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyse global LPG market fundamentals, including supply, demand, pricing, trade flows, freight, arbitrage opportunities, and regulatory developments.
  • Collect, validate, and interpret market and trade data from multiple sources to generate timely market insights.
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain supply and demand models, forecasting tools, and other analytical frameworks for trading activities.
  • Produce regular market reports, presentations, and ad hoc analysis for traders and senior management.
  • Track vessel movements and trade flows to identify changes in market dynamics and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with traders and analysts to evaluate market developments and contribute to trading strategies.
  • Continuously improve analytical models and reporting tools to support forecasting and scenario analysis.
  • Keep up to date with industry news, macro trends, geopolitical developments, and competitor activity.

Purpose of the Role

We are looking for an experienced LPG Market Analyst to join our global trading team. In this role, you will deliver market intelligence and analytical support that helps drive trading decisions. You will be responsible for monitoring global LPG market developments, building analytical models, identifying market trends and opportunities, and working closely with traders to provide actionable insights.   • Previous experience analysing LPG markets is strongly preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret complex datasets and translate findings into commercial insights.
  • Experience working with trade data, visualization platforms, and statistical or analytical software.
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, or similar data analysis tools, together with strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Good understanding of commodity trading, market fundamentals, financial modelling, and risk management concepts.
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken.
  • Strong programming and database skills, particularly in Python and SQL. Experience with R, MATLAB, or VBA would be considered an advantage.
  • Hands-on knowledge of global LPG markets.
  • Familiarity with naphtha markets would be beneficial.
