Job summary

eScribers is seeking an AV & Technical Support Technician to provide dependable technology support for hearings, depositions and other professional proceedings across courts and client sites in the UK. This hands-on role covers equipment prep, on-site setup, live support and post-event checks.

You will configure laptops, cameras, microphones and displays, troubleshoot hardware and connectivity issues, and assist with remote participation and digital recording.

Qualifications

• Experience with AV, IT support, live events, conferencing or technical operations.
• Good practical knowledge of computers and peripheral equipment.
• Confidence troubleshooting technical issues.
• A basic understanding of networking and connectivity.
• A professional and client-focused approach.
• Good organisation and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritise when several issues need attention at once.
• Confidence working in live environments where reliability is important.
• Willingness to learn new equipment and software.

Responsibilities

• Preparing laptops, microphones, cameras, displays and other technical equipment for upcoming assignments.
• Installing and connecting AV equipment at courts, hearing centres, offices and other client locations.
• Checking sound, video, internet connectivity and remote-participation systems before proceedings begin.
• Providing technical assistance to clients and participants during live sessions.
• Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, audio and connectivity problems.
• Supporting video calls, remote witnesses and hybrid proceedings.
• Assisting with digital recording and court-reporting technology.
• Making sure equipment is properly labelled, maintained and ready for future use.
• Liaising with internal operations teams about technical requirements for upcoming assignments.
• Recording faults, issues and equipment requirements clearly.
• Packing and returning equipment safely after assignments.
• Travelling to different London and UK locations when required.
