Job summary

NewIT Services is seeking an experienced Linux Support specialist to oversee, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot Linux-based systems in enterprise production environments. The role emphasizes strong Linux/Unix administration, shell scripting, and proactive incident management within a hybrid/remote setup.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for Linux/Unix systems and applications.
• Monitor system health, availability, performance, and resource utilization.
• Troubleshoot operating system, application, network, and infrastructure-related issues.
• Perform Linux system administration, configuration, maintenance, and support activities.
• Develop and maintain Shell/Bash scripts for automation and operational tasks.
• Analyze logs and monitoring alerts to identify and resolve production issues.
• Support application deployments, patches, upgrades, and configuration changes.
• Perform incident investigation, root-cause analysis, and problem resolution.
• Work with development, infrastructure, database, network, and application support teams.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and support records.
• Follow change management, incident management, security, and production support processes.
• Participate in on-call or production support activities as required.
