Job summary

TechnipFMC in Norway seeks a Senior Pre‑Commissioning Engineer with 4–5 years of experience to independently deliver subsea pre‑commissioning scope and support execution teams offshore/onshore. You will prepare procedures, plans, and reports while ensuring safety and compliance across projects.

The role involves collaboration with internal disciplines and clients, interface with subcontractors, and participation in risk assessments and optimization initiatives.

Qualifications

• BSc/MSc in Marine, Mechanical, Civil, Petroleum or related engineering.
• 2–12 years of experience in pre‑commissioning or subsea/pipeline engineering.
• Strong understanding of pre‑commissioning operations and workflows.
• Experience in both project and tender environments.
• Ability to work independently and deliver under pressure.
• Solid communication and collaboration skills.
• Offshore/on-site participation may be required.
• Offshore experience is an advantage; subsea experience is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Perform FCG, hydrotesting, flushing, leak testing, and dewatering tasks.
• Lead umbilical hydraulic, electrical, and fiber-optic testing activities.
• Prepare procedures, task plans, and reports.
• Ensure alignment with project specs, standards, and internal procedures.
• Provide technical support during onshore and offshore execution.
• Support tender methodologies and input to offshore schedule.

Job Purpose:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Pre‑Commissioning Engineer to join our team. This role is ideal for an engineer with minimum 4-5 years of experience who can work independently on projects & tender deliverables, provide technical expertise, and support execution teams during onshore/offshore activities. You will play a key part in delivering high‑quality engineering related to subsea & pipeline pre‑commissioning, ensuring safety and compliance across all tasks.

Job Description:

• Flooding, Cleaning & Gauging (FCG)
• Hydrotesting
• Flushing & Leak Testing
• Dewatering
• Umbilical Hydraulic, electrical & fiber‑optic testing
• Prepare engineering documents including procedures, task plans & reports.
• Ensure all engineering work aligns with project specifications, industry standards, and internal procedures.
• Provide technical support during onshore and offshore execution phases when required.

Project Collaboration:

• Interface with internal disciplines, subcontractors, and clients.
• Support equipment specifications, mobilization planning, and operational readiness activities.
• Participate in project reviews, technical discussions, and risk assessments.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, and efficiency.

Tender Support:

• Provide input to tender methodology and execution approaches.
• Prepare method statements, technical clarifications, man‑hour estimates & inputs to offshore schedule.
• Support internal reviews related to technical evaluations & project execution planning.

You are meant for this job if:

• BSc/MSc or similar in Marine, Mechanical, Civil, Petroleum, or relevant engineering discipline.
• 2-12 years of experience in pre‑commissioning or related subsea/pipeline engineering.
• Strong understanding of pre‑commissioning operations, industry standards, and operational workflows.
• Experience with both project and tender environments is a strong advantage.
• Ability to work independently, structure tasks efficiently, and deliver under pressure.
• Solid communication & collaboration skills.
• Comfortable working in dynamic project environments with shifting priorities.
• Offshore/on‑site participation may be required depending on project needs.
• Offshore experience is an advantage
• Experience working as Lead Engineer is an advantage.
• Subsea industry experience is mandatory
