Job summary

Kongsberg Ferrotech AS is seeking an Automation Technician to develop, assemble and test control systems for robotic subsea systems, with offshore and remote-working opportunities. You will work on component selection, system assembly, tests, documentation, and maintenance, collaborating in a fast-growing international team.

Start date to be agreed, place of work: Kongsberg. Ideal candidates have automation/mechatronics education, hands-on hardware experience, and strong Norwegian/English

Qualifications

• Technical education within automation or mechatronics.
• Experience with electronic circuits, sensor technology and motor drivers.
• Experience with hardware integration and troubleshooting.
• Excellent written and oral Norwegian and English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Select and implement control system components and solutions.
• Calculate and select cables and connectors for systems.
• Perform assembly, configuration and testing of KF systems.
• Participate in system tests and commissioning of robotic subsea systems.
• Maintain electrical schematics and documentation.
• Ensure readiness of systems for offshore or remote-location deployments.

The position as Automation Technician for Kongsberg Ferrotech involves development and assembly/testing of our Control systems, as well as service tasks and possibilities for periodical work offshore/on remote locations.

Job tasks and responsibilities

Selection and implementation of control system components and solutions

Selection and calculation of cables and connectors

Perform assembly, configuration and testing of KFs systems

Participate in system tests and commissioning of the robotic systems

Maintenance of our robots

Create and maintain electrical schematics and documentation

Relevant technical education within automation, mechatronics etc.

Understanding and experience with electronic circuits, sensor technology, motor drivers and control systems.

Experience with hardware integration and troubleshooting is an advantage

Practical, hands-on experience is an advantage

Team player

Excellent Norwegian and English communication skills - written and oral
