Job summary

KONGSBERG Discovery in Norway is seeking a Full-Stack SW Engineer for Positioning and Monitoring. You will contribute to HiPOS, the software platform for operating hydroacoustic positioning and vessel systems, with emphasis on backend services and API integrations.

Work with product, UX, Platform, Data and DevOps teams in a multidisciplinary environment aboard research vessels in Horten, with hybrid work arrangements and opportunities to advance maritime technology.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in computer science, cybernetics, software engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with application development using technologies such as C++, C#.
• Real-time programming, real time operating systems.
• Experience with DevOps tools and development pipelines.
• Experience with software development principles, testing, and version control.
• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Build and improve end-to-end product features across frontend and backend.
• Develop scalable backend services, APIs, integrations and data flows.

You will become part of the team responsible for HiPOS, our new software platform for operating and monitoring hydroacoustic positioning and communication systems. HiPOS supports demanding maritime operations by presenting positioning information and enabling interaction with hydroacoustic, inertial navigation and associated vessel systems.

Our solutions are used worldwide in demanding maritime operations within research, offshore energy, and other specialized applications.

In this role

You will contribute to the continued development of the HiPOS platform, primarily back-end software, system interfaces, operational user interfaces, and new functionality. You will work closely with experienced software developers, system engineers, testers, and product management in a multidisciplinary R&D environment. You will also:

• Relevant professional experience is preferred, but recent graduates with a strong technical background will also be considered
