Job summary

Nordic Semiconductor is seeking a Platform Engineer to help build and scale the nRF Cloud platform. You will own pieces of the platform end-to-end, ship production-grade code, and drive observability and reliability across systems handling data from millions of IoT devices.

You will collaborate across Product, SDK and Field Engineering, and Support teams to turn customer needs into robust technical solutions, with a focus on performance, security and cost optimization.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software engineering experience.
• Familiarity with AWS services (EKS, RDS, S3, EC2, ECS).
• Strong backend skills in Python, Kotlin or TypeScript.
• Experience with Kubernetes at scale and production workloads.
• Proficiency in observability and monitoring tooling.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Own pieces of the platform end-to-end, design and ship scalable systems.
• Monitor and improve data pipelines handling millions of IoT devices.
• Instrument systems and validate with data during scaling, performance, or cost issues.
• Respond to incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and drive postmortems.
• Write technical docs and RFCs to communicate tradeoffs across teams.
