Job summary

Star Information Systems is seeking a Controller to join our international software group and take responsibility for controlling, invoicing, and project financial management across our group companies. You will work closely with both operational and project teams and help develop the finance function with a high degree of autonomy.

You will act as main contact for external accounting providers, support audits, and contribute to budgeting and forecasting while ensuring strong internal controls

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in controlling, financial management, or project finance.
• Strong understanding of accounting, project finance, reporting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Experience with ERP and project management systems.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent written and spoken Norwegian and English.

Responsibilities

• Manage invoicing and follow up on customers and accounts receivable.
• Monitor projects, contracts, purchase orders, and order backlog.
• Controlling of accounts, prepare basis for CapEX, accrual/deferral, month-end, and more.
• Prepare reports, analyses, and forecasts.
• Analyse project margins, profitability, and resource utilization.
• Support Project Managers and Delivery Managers with financial insights and project follow-up.
• Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes.
• Act as the main point of contact for external accounting providers.
• Support audits and year-end closing activities.
• Serve as super user for project management/time registration systems.
• Drive continuous improvement of reporting, financial processes, and internal controls.
• Ensure high-quality financial documentation and effective routines.

Job description

We are strengthening our finance team and are looking for a Controller to take on a key operational role within an international group of companies. You will become part of a small, highly competent team where everyone contributes across tasks and processes.

This position combines controlling, invoicing, order backlog monitoring, and project financial management, while working closely with both operational and project teams. You will have independent responsibility for your own group companies while actively contributing to the day-to-day operations and development of the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

Project and Financial Controlling

• Manage invoicing and follow up on customers and accounts receivable
• Monitor projects, contracts, purchase orders, and order backlog
• Controlling of accounts, prepare basis for CapEX, accrual/deferral, month-end, and more.
• Prepare reports, analysies, and forecasts
• Analyse project margins, profitability, and resource utilization

Who Are We Looking For?
