Job summary

Coast Mountain College (CMTN) invites applications for a part-time Instructor in the Information Systems and Networking Diploma program at our Terrace campus. Salary will be in accordance with the BCGEU Instructor salary scale ($37.55 - $53.80 per hour).

The successful applicant will prepare and teach courses ITAS 241, ITAS 281, ITAS 288 and ITAS 295 during the Fall 2026 semester, assess student work, and provide constructive feedback and guidance to help learners succeed in online, face-to-face

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in IT or related field; Bachelor’s in related discipline.
  • Post-secondary teaching training (e.g., Adult Education or Teaching Certificate) preferred.
  • Combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Industry certifications such as CCNA, Oracle DB, Linux+ are desired.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, teach, assess student work, and provide feedback in ITAS courses.
  • Deliver instruction in online, face-to-face, and distributed learning formats.
  • Support learners with mentoring and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Contribute to course development and curriculum refinement.

Coast Mountain College (CMTN), Terrace campus invites applications for a part‑time Instructor in the Information Systems and Networking Diploma program as outlined below. Salary will be in accordance with the BCGEU Instructor salary scale ($37.55 - $53.80 per hour).

Duties: As an instructor, responsibilities will encompass facilitating student academic achievement, including course preparation, teaching, assessing student work, and providing constructive feedback, guidance, support and direction in the following courses:

Term: Fall 2026 Semester: Sept 8, 2026 – December 18, 2026

  • ITAS 241: Windows Server Management II (75 instructional hours)
  • ITAS 281: Linux Server Management II (75 instructional hours)
  • ITAS 288: Database Administration and Design (75 instructional hours)
  • ITAS 295: Network Routing and Switching Essentials I (75 instructional hours)
Qualifications

Qualifications/Skills: The candidate should have a Master’s degree in the subject area or related as well as a bachelor's degree in closely related discipline. Additional post‑secondary education and training in teaching, (e.g. a Master’s Degree in Adult Education, a Provincial Teaching Certificate or, a Provincial Instructor's Diploma) is preferred. A combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Industry certifications like CCNA, AZ 800, 801, Oracle Database Administrator or Linux+ are desired
  • Practical experience in IT project management is required to teach ITAS 164
  • Experience teaching in a variety of formats (i.e.: online, face to face and through distributed learning)
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching with the ability to inspire and mentor learners
  • Knowledge and enthusiasm for the best practices in equity, diversity, and inclusion in the classroom
  • Ability to function effectively across cultures, particularly with the local Indigenous communities

The successful applicant will possess a broad range of content knowledge, confidence and relevant experience. Experience should demonstrate excellent technology and group facilitation skills.
