Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Field Service Technician to support hydro equipment in Norway, Sweden, and Finland from our Lier base. The role involves maintenance, installation, and repair of heavy rotating equipment, with a strong emphasis on safety and operational excellence.

You will work in a hybrid model, traveling to project sites, collaborating with diverse teams and suppliers, and contributing to reliable energy generation.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance or repair of rotating equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation in English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel for reporting.
• Full proficiency in Norwegian, Swedish or Danish and good English.
• Willing to travel extensively for field assignments.
• Formal mechanical trade certificate is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Execute complex service, maintenance, and repair tasks on rotating equipment.
• Install new components and generator systems.
• Troubleshoot issues and implement effective solutions quickly.
• Maintain high safety standards per HSE protocols across sites.
• Collaborate with teams and suppliers to deliver projects on time.
