Job summary

The Hoxton Oslo is recruiting a Chief Engineer to lead the maintenance of the hotel’s facilities and equipment. You will manage budgets, stock, and safety protocols while ensuring compliance with risk assessments and health-and-safety standards.

You will lead a high-energy team, supervise contractors, and drive continuous improvements in maintenance processes. This role sits at The Hoxton Oslo in the new Scandinavian opening and requires hands-on leadership plus strategic planning.

Qualifications

• Experience in building management and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing).
• Stock management and budget awareness are essential.
• Proficiency using facility management software.
• Ability to lead and develop a high-energy team.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance of hotel facilities and equipment.
• Control maintenance budget and stock to stay within budget guidelines.
• Ensure health and safety procedures and risk assessments are in place.
• Maintain effective preventive maintenance schedules (PPM).
• Manage onsite activity of all contractors and supplier quotations.
• Keep records of machinery and equipment, manuals and specs.
• Maintain and test fire safety equipment.
• Lead and develop a team, set goals and empower staff.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and procedures.
• Be a member of hotel crisis and fire teams and participate in policy changes.
• Cover shift engineer shifts as required.
