Job summary

AutoStore is seeking a Hardware Test & Automation Engineer to join our R&D team in Norway. You will develop automated testing solutions for hardware modules, plan early NPD validation, and analyze results to drive reliability and performance improvements. You’ll work closely with hardware engineers to refine test methods and automation across projects.

This role emphasizes hands-on testing experience, collaboration, and proactive problem solving within a fast-growing, unicorn-backed tech company.

Qualifications

• Relevant engineering background in Automation, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience with PLC systems and test automation for hardware modules and test rigs.
• Hands-on hardware testing, prototyping or lab experience in product development.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret results and drive improvements.
• Collaborative and proactive with engineers to improve testing methods.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement automated testing solutions for hardware modules and sub-assemblies.
• Plan and execute validation activities during early-stage NPD with proper test coverage.
• Analyze test results to identify failures and opportunities to improve performance.
• Support root cause investigations and design validation with engineering teams.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to provide timely feedback and recommendations.
• Improve testing methods, tools, and automation to increase efficiency.
